While studying Economics and Environmental studies at the university of Cape Town Oliver was involved in setting up recyclables collection initiatives around campus and residences. After graduating he started a curbside recyclables collection business. From there Oliver spent 5 years as a waste management planning consultant and 8 years in a circular economy think tank doing industrial symbiosis and South African Plastics Pact facilitation. He has been the GM of South African Plastics Recycling Organisation (SAPRO) for one year.
